The Sunset Theory was formed with the purpose of writing and performing original modern rock music, eventually hoping to be signed to a label. The members of The Sunset Theory all come from diverse musical backgrounds, but in a short amount of time, they have seamlessly fused together to create energy and a uniqueness to their music. They are a talented work in progress with unlimited potential for writing solid and hook-filled modern rock music.

The musical diversity in the band comes from influences such as Live, Incubus, Pearl Jam, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Counting Crows, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns and Roses, Sevendust, Queen, The Strokes, STP, Nirvana, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Blues Traveler, and The White Stripes.
