At only 23 years old, DJ Brakez is an exciting and promising turntablist coming out of the Midwest. His experiences and stylish performances on the ones and twos have led him to levels of accomplishment he only dreamed of aspiring too a few years ago. Whether it's club hits, old school classics, or dirty south crunkness, he now is ready and anxious to display his talents to the world.





As a junior in high school, Brakez hosted a weekly, underground hip hop radio show on 89.3 WJEL, Indianapolis until he graduated. This show, called DFS Sound, featured three hours each week of live freestyling, interviews, scratching, juggling, and more from the local artists of the Midwest. When he left Indianapolis to attend college at Indiana University, Brakez took his concept of promoting local artists with him and started his own entertainment agency, DFS Sound...

Just after enrolling at IU, DJ Brakez saw opportunity all around. He sought out the best vinyl DJs around the campus and helped organize a crew that would soon dominate the college party scene. With the help of skilled turntablists including DJ Wushu and the legendary DJ Top Speed, as well as involvement in the Hitbeakers crew out of Indianapolis, Brakez gained residency at the local happy hour haven, the Jungle Room (formerly a bar and grill), and quickly transformed it into one of Bloomington's premiere dance clubs. Still to this day, you can catch DJ Brakez and his crew of wax specialists in the booth the the Jungle Room every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Soon, Brakez and his crew were holding down the top club and party spots around Indiana University.


Now, seven years after he first touched wax, Brakez is ready to show the world what he's truly about. Having recently moved to St Louis, the club and party scene is suddenly being introduced to the new level of djing that Brakez is bringing to the town. Whether it takes cuttin' up some fools in a local scratch battle, makin' college girls get down on the dancefloor, spending a weekend in a basement digging for some heat, or holdin' down club spots all around town, Brakez set for success...
